“The ever-changing skies of the West. Billowing clouds roll in from the Atlantic, a distant storm at sea. Dappled sun strikes the primeval rocks below – Here, my obsession with light and colour, and my fascination with the luscious texture of oil paint come together.

I spend a lot of my time in the West, my roots firmly in Connemara. I sketch the rugged landscape until I know it personally, painting plein air as the heavens open. Upon retreat to my beautiful studio in Dun Laoghaire, where I grew up, I get to work.

I put my heart and soul into my paintings. They are a hybrid of classical painting fundamentals and pure expression. Brooding energetic skies, bold splashes of colour and light, thick daubs of oil, layer upon layer of texture”.
